14 September 2026: Bitcoin passes Sunday morning level as recovery extends

Bitcoin reaches $77,700 as Ether regains Sunday's morning level. Crypto sentiment cools to 57 while the overnight recovery leaves Solana slightly behind.

Bitcoin has moved beyond Sunday morning’s price as the overnight recovery extends into Monday. Ether has just regained its earlier reference, while Solana still has a little ground to recover. The weekend setback is being repaired unevenly, and a lower sentiment reading means rising prices are arriving alongside less optimism in the daily index.

The wider market valuation has also recovered beyond Sunday evening’s observation. At around 07:12 BST on 14 September, CoinGecko’s global snapshot puts market capitalisation, the estimated value of circulating cryptocurrencies, at approximately $2.65 trillion, or £1.97 trillion. Bitcoin dominance, its share of that total, is about 58.8%, broadly unchanged from last night’s rounded figure. The valuation compares with approximately $2.63 trillion in the evening report.

Alternative.me’s Fear and Greed Index, a daily measure of Bitcoin market sentiment using inputs including volatility and momentum, has fallen to 57 from yesterday’s 61. Both readings remain in the provider’s Greed category. The lower score describes a cooling in that measure, rather than forecasting a price decline or contradicting the recovery visible in current quotes.

The table describes Bitcoin’s observed price changes using CoinGecko chart samples. Moves smaller than 0.5% either way are labelled Neutral, larger gains Bullish and equivalent falls Bearish. Weekly and monthly refer to approximately seven and 30 days; comparisons use the nearest available hourly samples. These labels describe past movement and are not trading signals.

Bitcoin is around $77,700, or £57,600, up approximately 0.6% over 24 hours. The underlying quote of $77,739 is also about 0.7% above the $77,217 recorded in Sunday evening’s account of the partial recovery. It has now passed the roughly $77,300 morning reference that remained just out of reach last night.

That changes the weekend comparison. The evening report described most of the observed Sunday decline as repaired. This morning, Bitcoin has regained that morning observation and added a little more. The improvement is clearer when measured against a fixed earlier quote than when inferred from the daily percentage alone.

It is still a limited conclusion. Recovering Sunday’s reference does not establish a lasting change in direction, and the table gives the longer comparisons separately. Bitcoin’s role in this morning’s story is that it has completed one identifiable recovery while some other large coins are only just reaching the same stage.

Ether is near $2,522, or £1,868, essentially unchanged over 24 hours. Ether, the coin used on Ethereum, is nevertheless around 0.7% above last night’s $2,504. It has returned to the rounded $2,522 observation from Sunday morning, after falling to about $2,476 in the afternoon.

The almost flat daily percentage therefore hides a meaningful recovery from a lower point. A rolling 24 hour return starts a full day earlier, whereas the overnight comparison starts in the evening. Both are valid, but they answer different questions. Someone checking only today’s percentage could miss the fall and recovery between those two endpoints.

Our Sunday afternoon report on Ether slipping below $2,500 supplies the missing context. Ether is back above that round number and approximately back to the morning quote. The useful interpretation is recovery of the observed Sunday loss, rather than a claim that the flat daily return means nothing happened.

Solana is around $101.64, or £75.31, down approximately 0.1% over 24 hours. It is about 0.7% above the evening’s $100.93, but slightly below Sunday morning’s $101.75. The remaining gap is small, though it keeps Solana’s recovery marginally less complete than Bitcoin’s on these particular reference points.

That difference is more useful than treating every positive overnight move as identical. Solana fell below $100 on Sunday afternoon, regained it by evening and has since added further ground. Its daily loss has narrowed to almost nothing, without quite restoring the full morning observation. This is a sequence of measured prices, not evidence that $100 guarantees protection against another decline.

XRP is near $1.38, up around 1.2% over 24 hours. That is above the evening’s rounded $1.35 and the morning’s $1.37. Quotes rounded to cents are too coarse for a precise overnight percentage, but the direction supports the broader picture of recovered weekend ground. The current prices and daily changes come from CoinGecko’s dollar and sterling snapshot.

XRP has the largest daily gain among these four coins, while Solana has the weakest daily comparison. That spread shows why a single market adjective can obscure useful differences. It does not establish a token specific announcement as the cause, and four prominent coins cannot stand in for every cryptocurrency.

The morning’s central divergence is a price recovery alongside cooling measured sentiment. Prices have improved since the evening, yet the refreshed sentiment score is lower. The two observations cover different inputs and update schedules. A daily index compresses information into one number; it is not a live running commentary on each overnight move.

The wider valuation offers a separate check. Its rise from roughly $2.63 trillion to $2.65 trillion points in the same direction as the overnight coin comparisons, although coverage and update times differ. That increase is a change in estimated market value, not evidence that the same dollar amount has been deposited into crypto. Prices applied to circulating supply can change the total without equivalent cash changing hands.

What to watch through Monday is whether the regained Sunday references hold. For Bitcoin, compare subsequent quotes with $77,300: remaining above it preserves the recovery beyond yesterday morning’s observation. For Ether, $2,522 distinguishes retaining that fuller recovery from merely staying above $2,500. Solana’s $101.75 remains the small remaining gap in this group.

Finally, compare the next global valuation with approximately $2.65 trillion. Continued improvement across that broader measure would provide more evidence than one coin rising alone. Keep the daily sentiment score on its own timetable. The practical task is to track whether these recovered prices persist, rather than interpret either the Greed label or an almost flat daily return as the whole story.
