13 September 2026: Major coins edge higher as sentiment eases
Bitcoin returns towards $77,300 as Ether and Solana edge higher. Sunday’s sentiment cools, while the wider crypto valuation gives a more cautious picture.
Sunday begins with a small recovery in major coin prices and a cooler reading of market sentiment. Bitcoin has returned towards Saturday afternoon’s level, but Ether and Solana remain below their earlier observations. The overnight improvement has repaired part of the evening retreat without restoring the whole afternoon picture.
The four coins in this briefing are slightly higher over 24 hours, while the broader market valuation offers a less upbeat comparison. At around 07:11 BST on 13 September, CoinGecko’s global snapshot puts market capitalisation, the estimated value of circulating cryptocurrencies, at approximately $2.64 trillion, or £1.95 trillion. Bitcoin dominance, its share of that total, is about 58.7%. These figures describe a much wider collection of assets than the four prices discussed below.
Alternative.me’s Fear and Greed Index, a daily measure of Bitcoin market sentiment, has eased to 61 from yesterday’s 63. Both readings sit in the provider’s Greed category. The change signals slightly less optimism in that measure, not a forecast of falling prices. Its inputs include price volatility, market momentum and social activity, so it should not be treated as an independent vote by every crypto investor.
| Timeframe | Regime | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 1 hour | Neutral | Price up about 0.14% over this period. |
| 4 hours | Neutral | Price down about 0.01% over this period. |
| Daily | Neutral | Price up about 0.12% over this period. |
| Weekly | Bearish | Price down about 3.34% over this period. |
| Monthly | Bullish | Price up about 22.01% over this period. |

The table describes Bitcoin’s observed price changes using CoinGecko chart samples. Moves smaller than 0.5% either way are labelled Neutral, larger gains Bullish and equivalent falls Bearish. Weekly and monthly mean rolling seven and 30 day periods. These descriptions summarise the past; they do not assign probabilities to the next move.
Bitcoin is around $77,300, or £57,100, up approximately 0.1% over 24 hours. It is also roughly 0.2% above the $77,128 recorded in Saturday evening’s account of the fading rebound. That places it close to Saturday afternoon’s $77,300 reference again. The overnight change is small, but it reverses the direction seen between the afternoon and evening reports.
This is a recovery to an earlier observation, rather than evidence of a new price range. Bitcoin is still below the roughly $77,850 recorded on Friday afternoon. A reader returning after the weekend should therefore distinguish between regaining a few hours of lost ground and recovering the larger setback described in earlier coverage.
The weekly decline in the table also remains compatible with a positive monthly comparison. Those periods begin at different prices. For this morning’s story, the useful conclusion is narrower: Bitcoin has recovered its modest Saturday evening dip, while the wider recovery still needs more evidence.
Ether is near $2,522, or £1,864, up around 0.4% over 24 hours. Ether, the coin used on Ethereum, is only about 0.1% above Saturday evening’s $2,519. It remains below the afternoon’s $2,535 and Friday evening’s roughly $2,545. Its daily percentage has turned positive without a comparable restoration of those earlier price levels.
That distinction prevents a misleading reading of the ticker. A rolling daily return compares the current quote with the quote 24 hours earlier, and that starting point changes throughout the day. A move from a negative daily percentage to a positive one does not by itself show that a substantial overnight recovery has occurred.
The Saturday afternoon report on Ether regaining ground provides the more useful fixed comparison. Ether has retained some improvement from Saturday morning’s $2,511, but much of the subsequent afternoon advance is still missing. The price data supports a pause after the evening retreat, rather than a claim of renewed momentum driven by a specific announcement.
Solana is around $101.75, or £75.21, up approximately 0.2% over 24 hours. It has edged above the evening’s $101.52, while remaining below Saturday afternoon’s $102.05. Its overnight improvement is similar in scale to Bitcoin’s, but it has recovered less of the distance back to its afternoon reference.
Solana remains above the $100 comparison used in recent reports. That round number makes the sequence easy to follow; it is not a guaranteed floor or a recommendation to act. Its contribution to the morning picture is modest improvement with an earlier gain still partly unrecovered.
XRP is near $1.37, up around 0.3% over 24 hours. The evening report rounded its price to $1.36. That is consistent with a small visible improvement, although quotes rounded to cents are too coarse to calculate a reliable overnight percentage. The current figures for all four coins come from CoinGecko’s price snapshot.
Across this limited group, the overnight direction is therefore better than the evening direction. It would still be a stretch to describe four small gains as proof that the entire cryptocurrency market is recovering. The aggregate figures are a useful check on that assumption.
The important divergence is between familiar coin prices and the market as a whole. CoinGecko’s global estimate is below the approximately $2.65 trillion recorded last night, even as these four coins edge higher. Bitcoin’s estimated share has risen from the evening’s rounded 58.2% to about 58.7%. Different update times and the wider asset coverage mean these snapshots should be compared cautiously.
A higher Bitcoin share does not establish that money has flowed directly from smaller coins into Bitcoin. The share is a ratio: it can rise when Bitcoin holds its value better than the rest of the measured market. Equally, a change in market capitalisation is not a cash deposit or withdrawal total. The supported interpretation is that this morning’s small gains in prominent coins do not describe every part of crypto.
What to watch through Sunday is whether the recovery reaches the remaining Saturday afternoon references. Bitcoin is already close to $77,300; Ether’s $2,535 and Solana’s $102.05 remain above their morning quotes. Reaching those observations would recover the intervening losses, while moving back towards $2,519 and $101.52 would remove the small overnight improvement.
Finally, compare the next global valuation with this morning’s $2.64 trillion. Improvement there alongside several major coins would offer broader evidence than a single rising price. Keep today’s sentiment reading separate from those continuously moving observations. The practical task is to check how much ground is actually regained before describing a recovery as established.
